Hansel and Gretel or Hänsel und Gretel?

I am absolutely thrilled to tell you I have a guest article on Biblioll College on Stephen King’s Hansel and Gretel written to Maurice Sendak’s art.

I began writing my analysis several months ago when I realized, in some frustration, that it was incredibly difficult to track down information about the production of the opera from which this art was taken. I quickly realized that the depth of the material, and the analysis it took, was far beyond the scope of the tight, generally laudatory, reviews I tend to post here. In a rueful chat with Boze of Biblioll College I confessed I had no idea where this essay belonged, and was thrilled he immediately said he’d love to see it. Please browse Biblioll College while you’re there. It is a lovely school of learning for those who value gaining knowledge and experience, whether music history, language, or literature. I’m pleased to have a piece alongside others who value the humanities as strongly as I do.
